Why a sniper?

23 May 2018 Why a contract killer chooses a rifle shot rather than a close attack.

So: what is the killer’s logic, what makes him choose a sniper attack?

Money.
The first factor is the plainest one: a criminal sniper can work alone, so there is more money for him and less risk from talkative colleagues in a dangerous business.

Safety.
He does not have to get through the layers of protection and then perform a difficult, risky withdrawal from close range.

Reliability.
If the weapon fails, unlike with a handgun, the shooter still has a second chance.

Psychology.
Not everyone is able to shoot at a “target” from up close.

Energy.
The power of a sniper weapon guarantees serious damage — provided you hit, of course.

And hitting a target at up to three hundred metres does not require years of practice: a steady skill is acquired in a matter of weeks.

So, dear bodyguards, no chance at all then? — Not necessarily.

The main work of close protection in preventing a sniper attack is breaking the routine. That is the short version. If your interest goes further than reading blogs, you are welcome to our bodyguard training course with the Anti-sniper module: 18 well-spent hours of theory and practice on countering the sniper threat. For very little money.
